Flickr's new search tool improves photo search

The colossal task of browsing through billions of photos pooled in the photo-sharing site Flickr will now be easier, courtesy the website's revamped search results page.

According to Flick's blog, now when you search for something, the results page will have the new "View" controls at the top of the page. These controls allow the results to display in different sizes and formats. Both small and medium views will have an 'i' icon on every thumbnail - clicking this will show detailed information about a particular photo.

On the right side of the page - based upon how members are tagging their photos and participating on Flickr, users will see links to the groups, photographers, tag clusters and places that are most closely related what they're looking for.

There's also simple summary information on the page when a user refines their search.
